We enjoyed a truly lovely gulf islands day on the water headed for Ganges for fishing (ie. shopping) and lunch. It was your Gilligan’s “three hour cruise”. The weather, however, was not getting rough by Mother Nature, but by the inconsiderate mega wake from a large, ploughing, pleasure seeker headed up sound. The entire channel seemed to be jostled by the ensuing waves. Sailors were seen shaking their heads and pounding the air with their fists. To no avail. The purpetrators were long gone and oblivious. I know you boaters are well aware of this happening, so who are these minority of thoughtless, inconsiderate boaters? As was heard on the VHF, in exasperated tones “Do you read ‘megayacht name here’, you obviously have way more money than courtesy!” The lesson: stay well clear of vessels that may leave behind a large wake including freighters and ferries.
