FEBRUARY 29, 2008 – 8pm at the Community Hall !!!
FERRON will be here on Pender and giving a concert –
She’s happy and excited to be coming back to us. Said she’ll be here ‘with bells on’…
“Someday, they will call Dylan the Ferron of the ’60s.” The Boston Globe.
Ferron has garnished a huge international following and press attention.
The New York Times called her startlingly intimate, honest and inspiring.
Rolling Stone said of Ferrons highly regarded Shadows on a Dime album: Ferron writes of love with the relentless introspection of Leonard Cohen, and, as with classic Bob Dylan, her songs tough, questioning attitude sometimes gives way to an unexpected sweetness.
In addition to being one of Canada’s most famous folk musicians, she is one of the most influential writers and performers of women’s music, and an important influence on later musicians such as Ani DiFranco and the Indigo Girls.
Not to be missed!

I am so dissapointed that I’ll be off island for this event. I was blown away by Ferron when she performed a few years back on Pender and I became an instant fan. Her lyrics are fascinating and her voice is soulful. Don’t miss this one!

I’m sorry I missed the concert! Does anyone feel like writing a mini-review?
