After a short annual general meeting and a coffee break, Dr. Hans Tammemagi will be giiving this year’s presentation. Recycling, Human Beings and the Future of the Planet.
Our guest speaker is an environmental scientist and consultant, now enjoying national recognition as an environmental, science and travel writer. He has published six books, with a 7th, Our Endangered Atmosphere: The science and politics of air pollution, soon to be published by Oxford University Press. One of his works, The Waste Crisis: Landfills, incinerators and the search for a sustainable future, speaks directly to us.
Dr. Tammemagi is also the environmental columnist for the Vancouver Sun, and an adjunct professor at the University of Victoria, in the School of Environmental Studies, focusing on population issues.
