Affordable Housing Survey for North Pender Island:

In January 2008, the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee established an Affordable Housing Task Force composed of Pender residents to look at housing need on the Island and to report back in late fall with recommendations. This enquiry has come about as a result of individuals and families experiencing difficulties in finding suitable accommodation. To assist in this review, the Task Force has prepared a survey to ask you to complete and drop off at one of the following eight locations on the Island by July 31, 2008:

Southridge Farms Country Store; Pender Island Agricultural Hall (and Saturday Farmer’s Market); Pender Island Realty at Driftwood Centre; Port Browning Pub; Medicine Beach Market; Dockside Realty at Hope Bay; Pender Island Library; and the Pender Island Home Building Centre.

If you have any questions about the survey or the outcome and future plans, please call Ellie Donahue, Chair of The Affordable Housing Task Force at 250 629-6416.

The Affordable Housing Task Force is comprised of:

Marika Kenwell, Jack Ferguson, Ken Rempel, Colin Hamilton, Jean Deschenese, Kari Huhtala, Ellie Donahue, Ken Hancock*, and Gary Steeves* (*Trustees, Islands Trust North Pender)
