Chamber Benefits Awareness Afternoon

Please join the Chamber at our ‘Benefits Awareness’ afternoon at the Anglican Parish Hall, Saturday, Nov 8th from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
This information session is open to members as well the public. Our guest speaker is Doug Wedman, agent for the Chambers Group Insurance Plan for small business. He will provide details on dental, health, life insurance and disability insurance available to owners and employees of small businesses.

Whether you’re a solo entrepreneur, home-based business or part of a larger firm, benefits are a very important part of your financial security. The Chambers Plan lays a solid foundation for that security, based on a benefit program designed specifically for you and your company.

We will also provide an overview of other benefits Chamber membership offers and demonstrate how members can access this information on the Chamber web site.

There will be a Wine and Cheese social following the presentation.  Bring a friend, member or non-member.  We hope to see you there!

Remembrance Day

Filed under: Services — Jocko @ 8:34 pm

2008 Pender Island Remembrance Day Schedule

Monday, November 10th – CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

1:00 pm – Candles are lit by the children of Pender to honour our veterans.  Parade led by Pender Highlanders Pipe Band and Legion colour guard.

6:00 pm – Candles glow in the darkness over the crosses that mark too many places – as the sounds of a lone piper waft through the air.  A stirring moment.

Tuesday, November 11th – REMEMBRANCE DAY

10:45 am – Parade begins at Legion Cenotaph

11:00 am – Moment of silence, laying of wreaths and last post.

11:15 am – Service begins in Legion Hall, to be followed by refreshments and a day of remembering the debt we owe to the Veterans who fought and died so that we might be free.

Take some time from your day and show you care.
